Pharmacological properties

Enrocolin is a complex preparation; its therapeutic effect is caused by a synergistic effect of active ingredients of the product: Enrofloxacin and Colistin sulphate.

Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones, it inhibits synthesis of DNA in nucleus of cells of microorganisms. The product has bactericidal action against Gram- positi e and Gram-negative microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacteriaceae, Pas- teurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Acti spp., Brucella spp., Bordetella bronchisepti a, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., etc.), as well as against mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma spp.) and chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.).

Colisti is an antibioti of the group of polymyxins, which are synthesized by aerobic spore- forming coli Bacillus polymyxa. Colisti as part of the formulati has bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp.). Colisti binds to phospholipids of the cytoplasmic membrane, enhances its permeability for intra and external cell components, which leads to destructi of bacterial cell.

The product is rapidly absorbed and penetrates into all tissues and organs of the body. Mmaximum concentration of preparation in the blood is achieved in 2 hours after application and lasts for 3-4 hours, therapeutic concentration lasts for 24 hours. Excreted in the urine, bile and feces.
